This was a game that was dominated by the Vale and could quite easily have been 6-1 instead of 3-1. To say that the team were good is an understatement. In the 25 years I've watched the Vale this is the best performance I have seen against the Frew. Every single player played their part.
If we can keep up this standard then I think we will do well in the league. As a matter of fact I would go as far as to say that we could win it and I can honestly say that I've never said that at the start of the season.
When you think that we still have players to come back from holiday.
To say that players like Broonie, Crowy and big Nugs played well I have to say that every player who took part in this game were excellent and deserved to named MoM.
Let's all get behind the team and stop moaning at them for the least wee mistake and it will make the difference to the way they play.

good to see the vale back in action. players done well after a long break from football. good to see we have a couple players from the 21s stepping up from the first team and good to see david mcbarren play well and had a good couple of goals. Nice to finaly beat benburb after losing twice in 2008/9 after going up 2-0 and losing 3-2 and going up 1-0 and losing 2-1. thought that was going to happen again today but the team put in a good 2nd half performance and had a great comeback.

Unlucky today but good season. Promotion is the target for next season. Good pre-season and a good run in the Sectional League Cup would be an ideal way to start off.

Well done Vale for this season.

This was a typical end of season game that was marred by an incompetent referee who should have given the Vale a penalty in the first few minutes but ended up giving a foul against us not only that, every foul in the first half was given against the Vale whether we were to blame or not. It took the ref to the 49th minute to give us a foul.
The first half was dominated by the Vale and only had a Rusty Russell goal to show for it.
In the second half the Vics came more into the game and started to bully the Vale team off the ball and in no time we found ourselves 2-1 down.
On came the evergreen Shuggie Ward and scored what to me was on par a with Archie Gemmells goal in Argentina.
I know Hugh Hamill doesn't agree with me but we need to toughen up in the tackles.
Let's string a couple of good results together and go out on a high.
